1. Introduction
Welcome to SienteRitmo ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the SienteRitmo mobile application (the "App"), a salsa timing, son clave, and percussion practice app.
In short: SienteRitmo has no accounts and no server of its own. Your practice data never leaves your device, and microphone audio is never recorded or uploaded. The only information that leaves your device is anonymous usage analytics, crash diagnostics, and purchase status.
2. Information We Collect
SienteRitmo works without an account. We do not ask for, and the App does not collect, your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location. We collect the following categories of information:
- Practice profile and preferences - settings you choose during onboarding and in the App, such as your dance style, experience level, practice goals, comfortable tempo, counting preference, metronome calibration offset, and language. This is stored on your device.
- Progress data - information generated as you practice, such as completed lessons and drill results. This is stored on your device.
- Purchase and entitlement information - whether you have unlocked Premium. Payments are processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat; we never receive your payment card details.
- Usage analytics - events about how the App is used, such as which screens you open, which practice modes you start, and paywall interactions. These are tied to an anonymous app instance identifier generated by Firebase, not to you personally. We also record your practice profile choices (dance styles, goals, level, counting preference, comfortable tempo) as analytics properties so we can understand which features matter to which kinds of dancers.
- Device and diagnostic data - technical information such as app version, operating system, device model, and crash reports, used to keep the App stable.
- Support communications - information you provide if you contact us, such as your email address and message content.
3. Microphone
SienteRitmo requests microphone access for Song Mode, which listens to music playing in the room to find its beat so you can practice tapping along with real songs.
Microphone audio is analyzed live on your device to detect the beat. It is never written to storage, never recorded, and never transmitted to us or to anyone else. The App contains no code that uploads audio. Nothing derived from the audio other than the detected tempo is used, and that stays on your device.
Microphone access is only used while Song Mode is running. You can decline or revoke it in your device settings at any time; the rest of the App continues to work.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Save your practice profile, settings, and progress
- Detect the beat of music you play, on your device
- Determine whether you have access to Premium features and restore purchases
- Analyze usage patterns so we can improve lessons, drills, and app design
- Diagnose crashes and maintain app stability
- Respond to support requests and feedback
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Data Storage
Your practice profile, settings, and progress are stored locally on your device. SienteRitmo has no account system and no cloud sync, so this data is not uploaded to us and is not accessible to us. It also means your progress does not transfer to another device.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by our service providers, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party service providers. These providers may process information on our behalf for purposes such as:
- Analytics - Firebase Analytics helps us understand how the App is used.
- Crash diagnostics - Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports and related device details so we can fix problems.
- Purchase management - RevenueCat manages purchase entitlement status and presents the Premium offer.
- Payment processing - the Apple App Store and Google Play process in-app purchases under their own terms and privacy policies.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
Song Mode may offer to open a music app such as Spotify so you can start a song. This simply opens the other app on your device; SienteRitmo does not connect to your music account, and we receive no information about what you listen to.
7. Data Retention
Data stored on your device remains there until you uninstall the App, clear its data, or reset your progress in the App. Uninstalling the App removes it. Analytics, crash, and purchase data is retained according to the retention policies of the respective service providers.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
Because SienteRitmo has no accounts, we hold very little that could identify you, and we generally cannot link analytics or crash data back to an individual. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask what we hold, please contact us at the email address below. You can also opt out of analytics collection by disabling it in your device settings, and you can erase all local data by uninstalling the App.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
