Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ToneSeed ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

ToneSeed is a music ear training application that helps users develop their musical hearing skills through interactive exercises including interval recognition, chord identification, scale identification, cadence recognition, rhythm training, melodic dictation, vocal range testing, and sing-back exercises. The App also provides practice routines, progress tracking, and customizable reference songs to support your learning.

3. Accounts

You may use the App without creating an account. If you choose to create an account (via email, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions

ToneSeed offers auto-renewable subscription plans ("ToneSeed Pro") that unlock premium features. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play Store).
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

5. Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for premium features. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee.

6. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

7. User Content

You may create content within the App, such as custom reference songs and practice routines ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the cloud sync feature, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the sync service to you. We do not use your User Content for any other purpose.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent any subscription or access restrictions
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the App or its servers
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, audio, soundfonts, and software — are the exclusive property of ToneSeed and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the App settings. Upon account deletion, your cloud data will be permanently erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Termination does not affect any active subscriptions — you must cancel your subscription separately through your device's subscription settings.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ToneSeed shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
